Mary is a self-taught Artist who paints in a form of Realism. She has said, "Oil painting is to me much like writing is to an author, 'once the painting is complete many more than one can enjoy.' Teaching yourself everything can be a long road, but what a journey, to learn with God blessing every step of the way and with the love of your husband. The measure of success is the love and the passion you have for what you do, and without it you can lose your way.

"Mixing color values or hues of a main color, create the shadows for the sides of a building to oppose the front and tells us if the sun is to rise or set. Perspective is enhanced by the color values as well and allows us to see the realistic view of an open window or door, winding paths, steps, water and so much more. Composition or the ability to perceive it is invaluable and I was grateful that it came naturally to me."

John's most notable works are his Latin Prayers, works of art hand drawn in his style of calligraphy and on Multi-media paper enabling him to use watercolor pens, with a brush tip and chisel for the curved features. His art, drawings, enhance his Prayers as well. Some are featured in color and some we left as black and white for prints, John will also sell his Originals at BaywoodGallery.com and he will also provide free downloadable audio of his voice speaking the prayers in Latin. John's eyesight is compromised, but he is able to use aids to help him produce these one-of a kind, sheltered by God, Prayers and his Drawings and Sketches.
